7 - Insanity Stratosphere Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas – This one is a doozy. Insanity is a ride located on top of the Las Vegas hotel Stratosphere. The Stratosphere Las Vegas can be found right off of the Las Vegas Strip and is the tallest structure in the entire State of Nevada. Insanity is a ride that hovers guests over the side of the Stratosphere and swings them around 900 feet in the air and at 40 miles per hour. The ride opened in 2005 and is one of the most sought after attrions in Las Vegas.\r

The one that we think tops the list is Maverick. Built in 2007, this coaster tops out at a speed of 70 miles per hour and at certain points during the ride makes the passengers feel like theyre airborne. From a huge drop to so many twists and turns its hard to count, Maverick is a classic and thrilling roller coaster ride that enthusiasts love to go on again and again.\r

5 - X2 Six Flags Magic Mountain, Los Angeles CA – This coasters claim to fame is that its the Worlds first “4D” roller coaster in the world. This basically means it has 360 degree rotating seats which allow for facedown, head first drops. The X2 originally opened in 2002 and was temporarily shut down in 2007 for some maintenance. Today is it open for business and offers a lot of new features, like audio visual components, immersive tunnels, speeds that reach up to 76 miles per hour and the crazy raven turns – which go from a half loop turn into a full-on drop with no notice. \r

4 - Tower of Terror II, Dreamworld Gold Coast, Australia – Hold onto your lunch there, Australia – the Tower of Terror II, located at the Dreamworld Amusement Park in Australia is a pretty intense ride. Theres an eerie silence before the ride propels the riders backward up to a height of 377 feet and an incline of 90 degrees before dropping them back down through the same tunnel the descended from. In new, the ride was the 5th fastest ride and the 3rd longest drop in the world.\r

3 - Big Shot, Las Vegas – To have two thrill rides from the same place, heck, from the same structure, just goes to show you how crazy Vegas really is. The second ride on our list to be located at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, the Big Shot is not for the faint of heart. It is the worlds tallest amusement ride and is built atop the Stratosphere at 921 feet. Reaching a speed of 50 miles per hour, this ride drops and raises passengers 160 ft., achieving 4Gs during the riders ascent back up the ride.\r

2 - Superman Ride of Steel, Six Flags New England, Massachusetts – This coaster just keeps winning awards for being the best roller coaster in the US – and its pretty easy to see why. The Ride of Steel offers riders a 221 foot drop, speeds that surpass 77 miles per hour and a whopping 10 moments of weightlessness. As of the 2016 season, the ride has been tweaked to allow for a virtual reality aspect to be installed. Passengers will have the option of wearing a Samsung Gear virtual reality headset while riding. The virtual reality is Superman themed, of course, and will show Superman saving a city from Lex bots. Its ually pretty amazing!\r

1 - Formula Rossa – Formula Rossa is located in Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi and is meant to make passengers feel like they are driving in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The ride uses the same equipment used to thrust fighter planes from warships and produces 1.7 Gs – leaving passengers pinned to their seats. The ride accelerates from 0 to 100 in exly 2 seconds and travels 1.28 miles in under 90 seconds. If youre lucky enough to take on this coaster, its definitely a ride of a lifetime!\r
