As part of the Kimchi Festival, people gather in Seoul to prepare over one hundred tons of kimchi to share with the underprivileged neighbours. People participate in Korea’s history-long culture of Kimjang, making kimchi as a communal practice of preparing food for the winter and sharing kimchi with families, friends, and communities. Kimjang has been recognised by UNESCO as a world heritage asset.
