INDUSTRIAL CHIC
Designer Deirdre Doherty gives a fresh look to this bathroom in an old Spanish Revival. By blending in a bit of industrial chic, the space feels totally new. (The wall tile is Michael S. Smith for Ann Sacks and the floor tile is Cluny by Granada Tile.)
CHEVRON FLOOR
In a New York City bathroom designed by Alla Akimova, the drama is really on the floor. Glassos tiles in Vetro Bianco on the walls and the vanity reflect light beautifully. (The chevron, composed of Dark Emperador and Thassos marble, was custom cut by Manhattan Renovations.)

A Nantucket beach house's blue master bathroom gets its airy look from high ceilings and walls painted a pale blue. Designer Frank Roop drew the mosaic tile floor on a computer with CAD software, and Tile Showcase manufactured it in one piece, like a carpet.

To avoid breaking up the continuity, designers Heidi Bonesteel and Michele Trout frosted the shower wall only in the middle. "We love stripes, but we'd never seen them before in a wall tile. It's perky and different," Bonesteel says.
