What actually happened: Rin saying that the semen of a magician doubles as a cluster of magic, and that sexual intercourse works in the sense of putting in a set of brand-new batteries. So, Shirou bangs Saber, and then she wakes up the next morning with the same effect of having juiced up on steroids.
What the anime and Realta Nua says happened: While lying clothed over Saber, Shirou gets magically transported FOR NO REASON to a trippy world that is apparently inside Saber's mind, where a crappy CGI dragon bites Shirou's arm off - only he really doesn't - and that somehow recharges Saber.
