Shocking CCTV footage has emerged of a gang speeding away in a van having stolen a pet dog in broad daylight in southern China.
The video, captured in Guangzhou City in Guangdong Province on November 8, shows a man in a van throwing a lasso-type device around the neck of a dog, dragging it at speed into the vehicle.
The dog's owner and his friend coming running around the corner and chase after them.
The suspect was a dog-snatching gang that steal dogs in rural areas and sell them to dog meat traders.
Police were able to arrest the gang and saved around 30 dogs, according to reports.
Local media said the police were still trying to find the dogs' owners.
