The chronicles of Boribmol village in Goa, India are recounted through the gaze of sixteen-year-old Santosh. A few steps from the beach and lounging tourists on vacation, a whole other reality exists.
Santosh lives with his grandmother in this village whose population mainly consists of immigrants subjected to the tyranny of Juze, a slum landlord and a lawless, showy "king."
Despite blows and threats, Santosh doesn't give in, his determination to go to school seems indestructable.
As all kinds of abuse and violence increases, his initially passive resistance will develop to the point where there is no turning back.
