Shoots across the country are diversifying, playing to their strengths and offering more than just well presented birds. At the Ashbourne estate in Sussex the McDougal Challenge is to shoot a cock pheasant in the morning then, after a hearty lunch, tie a fly using a tail feather and then catch a trout in the gin clear waters of the lakes. We join a group of guns/rods hoping to join the exclusive club of McDougalers.
