Rare Descent of Chamonix's Pain du Sucre - A Window Into Our World Ep. 4

Try not to gawk at this stunning footage of Luca Rolli skiing the Pain de Sucre with Julien Herry and Davide Capozzi on the 7th of April. This is a beautiful descent, but really, really steep.

Normally you can never see all the descent: from the top of Grands Montets you can see the top part; from the Vallee Blanche you can see the bottom part. But never the middle.

The team decided to ski this line without climbing it. Instead, they arrived from the other side. The guidebook from Tardivel and Baud rate this descent a 5.5 with some sections around 55°.

The snow was light and nice to ski, but did not stick to the hard ice below which forced the team to wisely use the rope in a few places.

This is a unique video which takes the viewer onto one one of the steepest descents in the Mont Blanc Massif.
