PRESENTED BY RHYAN SINCLAIR

To understand the appeal of Kentucky singer/songwriter Josh Merritt, you simply need to spend a few minutes shooting the breeze with him. He has a way of putting people at ease in conversation with his big smile and small town sincerity not to mention unmistakable laugh. In short, this gregarious musician with a southern mentality has the elusive X-factor that separates entertainers from the pack - something that is immediately apparent when he takes the stage.

A native of Owensboro, KY, Merritt has been making music since the early age of 9 years old after his father brought him home his first guitar. As a child he quickly picked up a love for writing songs and even more so for performing them. His warm heart and eagerness to entertain made him a natural on stage in no time at all.

Merritt's been working relentlessly the last several years after giving up a very lucrative day job and diving head first into playing music full time as a career. "It was very scary." says Josh. "I tried to do both for a while but it became impossible. I was and am very thankful for my time at Acme but it just wasn't what I was set on doing forever. I learned a lot about hard work there though. Lessons that keep me motivated in what I do now. One of my favorite bible verses is Matthew6:24 which says no one can serve two masters because you will always give one more effort then the other. So with the support of some great friends and family I just went for it and never looked back."
