Hailing from the NSW Southern Highlands, Ben Camden has been playing and making music since picking up a guitar at the age of 14. After finishing high school, the allure of travel and exploration of the world called, and it was in Italy that Ben began his professional music career.
Influenced by Neil Young, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, and Johnny Cash, Ben likes to keep his writing style simple, and prefers to let his music speak for itself. Creating a soulful blend of deep blues, baritone vocals, catchy guitar and heartfelt songs about love and life. However, it is through Ben’s live performances that you feel the real depth of him as a musician and vocalist.
Ben’s recently released EP ‘This Is Yours’ was recorded on a ship off the East Coast of Australia. Produced by Ben’s close friend and fellow artist Mike Barnes, the two recorded all instruments on the album, and arranged the songs to effortlessly translate to a stripped back live sound, reminiscent of the solo shows of Neil Young and James Taylor.
The EP is a mix of slow, clean blues, upbeat guitar hooks and a very slight hint of country, with those deep vocals that Ben is well known for.
Ben regularly plays shows around the Sydney, Wollongong, Canberra and Central Coast regions, and is looking forward to bringing his new EP on the road during 2017.
