Noch so ein Hipsterspasti mit HipHop-Faible, der in der Hauptstadt gestrandet ist, auf Instant Hype hofft und versucht, die Deutschrap-Kuh zu melken. Gut, ganz so einfach ist es nicht. Ja, Füffi hat beim VBT mitgemacht, aber nicht als überzeichneter Charakter mit Maske, sondern als MC mit Punchlines. Und wer die »Alles für’n Füffi«-EP, die der Mittzwanziger 2014 auf Beats von Nugat und Yunis als Free-Download veröffentlicht hat, gehört hat, dürfte einen Eindruck davon bekommen haben, dass der Junge ein bisschen anders tickt als your average Deutschrap-Dödel.
Jetzt erscheint mit »Walter« die zweite EP von Füffi über Corn Dawg Records. Fünf Tracks, die so ganz anders tönen als der »unbeschwert-konzeptionelle Studentenrap auf Sample-Beats« (O-Ton Füffi) seiner »Alles für’n Füffi«-EP. Denn zwei Jahre später ist alles ein bisschen anders. Die Beats kommen nur noch von Yunis. Der Trap-DJ und Bassexperte hat Füffi mit seiner Electronica-Affinität einen eckig-kantigen Sound verpasst. Jeder der Tracks brummt, bratzt, fiept und knistert auf seine ganz eigene Weise – die perfekte Grundlage für Füffis verspult-nörgeligen Rotz-Rap.
»Wenn man mit dem Studium fertig ist, hat man noch eine enthusiastische Sicht auf die Welt. Man hat Visionen, was seine Lebensplanung angeht«, erzählt Füffi. Aber dann fängt man an, in dieses Erwachsenensystem reinzurutschen, hat einen Job und merkt, dass man sich gar nicht so selbstverwirklichen kannst, wie dir das im Studium versprochen worden ist. In der HipHop-Szene ist es ähnlich. Ich saß früher in meinem Kinderzimmer und habe mir ausgemalt, wie das alles funktioniert und wie die Leute sind. Aber dann lernt man die Künstler kennen und merkt, dass das alles voll die Affen sind. Viele Sachen haben mich krass aufgeregt, wodurch wiederum ich mich auch verändert und über mich selbst geärgert habe. Die Symbiose aus diesen beiden Dingen spiegelt sich jetzt eben auch in meinen Texten wieder.

Another hipster dumbass with a faible for hip-hop who got stranded in the german capital, hoping for insta-hype and trying to milk the german-rap-cow. Okay, it´s not that easy. Yes, Füffi participated in the VBT (Video Battle Turnier on rappers.in) but not as exaggerated character with a mask but as MC with punchlines. Und those who heard the "Alles für´n Füffi"-EP that the rapper released 2014 on beats of Nugat and Yunis as free-download should have noted that this guy is not your avarage german-rap-fool.«
"Walter" is the second EP now released by Füffi with Corn Dog Records. Five tracks that sound very different from the "blithe-conceptual student-rap on sample-beats" (quote Füffi) of his "Alles für´n Füffi"-EP. Because two years later everything is a little bit different. The beats are only by Yunis now. The trap-DJ and bass-expert gave Füffi an edgy sound with his faible for electronica. Every track hums, buzzes and sizzles in his very own way - the perfect base for Füffi´s confused-nagging spit-rap.
"When you graduate you still have a enthiusiastic view on the world. You have visions concerning the plan for your life.", Füffi says. "But then you start to slip into this adult-system, you have a job and notice that you can´t really have your self-fulfillment as you were told while studying. In hip-hop it´s quite similar. I used to sit in my room as a child and tried to picture how all this works and what the people are like. But then you meet the artists and realize that they are all morons. A lot of stuff made me really angry, which made me change and made me being upset about myself. The symbiosis of these two things can be found in my lyrics now."
