The ABC Band is an emerging Acoustic House band; the creators of "ruban" music - a beautiful collision of traditional RURAL melodies and modern URBAN rhythms. The group is reminiscent of highly skilled and consistent live acts like Freshly Ground, Matthew Mole, Norah Jones in the US whose music and musicians are centered on being young, hip and authentic. Founded by renowned Producer and Bassist, Hubert and prolific Songwriter and Guitarist, Chane, The ABC Band comprises of skilled instrumentalists that double as vocalists. With a lively array of sounds that originate from several parts of Africa, including our very own home, South Africa - the band seeks to expose a younger, curious audience to a whole new live music experience.
Their catchy melodies and upbeat grooves are making them favorites at festivals and events across South Africa.
They have not only been making waves on radio with their 5FM play listed single 'Castles' but also on tv to 1 422 975 viewers on the much-loved reality music show 'Coke Studio South Africa Season 2' on Etv which features SA's most talented artists, collaborating and creating new, original music.
