A travers ses chansons il nous raconte son monde intérieur, intime et sensitif. Un guide qui nous connecte à notre propre univers émotionnel en nous remémorant un souvenir enfoui, une émotion fugace, une espérance intense.
Matt, chanteur et multi-instrumentiste, propose dans son premier album solo « Promised Land » un songwriting racé et personnel, dévoilant ses atours tantôt indie-rock, tantôt pop-folk, dans une odyssée musicale envoûtante.
Matt Mathews a précédemment publié deux albums avec le groupe Exphase (indie electro-rock) « Embryo » et « Secret Garden », qui ont obtenu une presse enthousiaste et un large écho médiatique en Suisse romande, et ont permis au groupe de se produire sur des scènes telles que le festival Label Suisse, le Paléo Festival (scène FMR), ou Musiques en Eté sur la scène Ella Fitzgerald.
Avec le groupe d’indie blues The Exciters, Matt a sorti un EP « The Eternal Cannibal Prelude » et un album « Flashback ». Avec plus de 100 concerts en trois ans, ils ont tourné intensément dans toute la Suisse dans des clubs et festivals comme le Bikini Test, Fri-son, L'Usine U.ZN, KIFF Aarau, Le Chat Noir, Henrici Zürich, Barbus Festival, Carouge en Fête Festival, et en Europe lors de 4 tournées en Hollande, Espagne, France et Italie.
Matt Matthews is a songwriter. A storyteller. Matt, singer and multi-instrumentalist, proposes in his first solo album « Promised Land » a personal and stylish songwriting, from indie-rock to pop-folk, in a bewitching musical journey.
« Promised Land » talks about rebirth and healing, about shared friendship and disappointed love, breakups, grace and redemption… This promised land, real or imagined, sort of mantra that everyone can use, awakens in us the desire to reinvent ourselves and the strength to liberate us, to deliver us…
In its contrasting moods, the music of « Promised Land » turns from light to dark and softness to energy, but remains constantly close to us, at our side. Between dream and reality, the musical journey of Matt takes us by the hand beyond the stars.
