PRESENTED BY SHULI DUARTE

David Millán, although born in the Salta Province in Argentina, is “jujeño” by adoption; when he was only a few months old his family settled in the city of La Quiaca, in the “puna” of Jujuy Province, on the Bolivian border.

Aromas of homemade bread from the clay oven, the experience of men in the beauty of “puneño” landscape along with the melodies of sikus (Andean panpipes), charangos (small Andean guitars) and quenas (Andean flutes), forged in his soul the sensibility and love of musical expression.
At 18, David had the opportunity to move to Mendoza Province, to study a career outside of the art world. May be due to homesickness, or perhaps the distance, or the melancholy of being far away from La Quiaca, it was here that he played his first chords on the charango, the quena and the guitar so that, through music, he could always return to Jujuy.

In his songs and performances, he tries to show the music, the culture, the life of the place where he grew up, and express the warmth of his people and an impression of the Andean landscape.
