Country singer-songwriter Hayley Marsten is an unapologetic, unstoppable force of talent and determination. The Brisbane based artist has just released her debut EP “Even” with the help of one of Australian country music’s most famous families, The Chambers. Recorded with a full-band assembled by Bill Chambers, the EP was recorded in December 2014, at Foggy Mountain Studios, owned by son Nash Chambers. Taking inspiration from Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn and Kacey Musgraves, Marsten’s lyrics are personal, honest and the perfect amount of sass.
This singer-songwriter has more than a few music conquests under her big-buckled belt as a MusicOz award-nominee, Gympie Music Muster performer and headliner at Boyne Valley Country Music Campout, co-writing with Aleyce Simmonds at the DAG Sheep Station’s Song writing Retreat and being opening act on 8 Ball Aitken’s 2013 tour.
Big mouth, big hair, big dreams, are some of the lyrics from the lead single off the EP ‘Storm in a D Cup’ which is quickly winning fans already, gaining radio airplay and praise across the country. The fiddle-driven, toe-tapper, gives a tongue-in-cheek look into the artist’s life, which is resonating with her new and existing fans.
2015 is just the start for Hayley and her special way of getting ‘Even’, writing a song that gets stuck in people’s head, that’s a pretty great way to get even…
