Australian newcomers James Chatburn and Jordan Rakei have teamed up for James' second official single. Melding influences from hip-hop, soul and RnB, Holiday Love is a pleasingly seductive mix of acoustic and electronic elements which does not fit into any one mould.
James Chatburn and Jordan Rakei are both singers, musicians and producers, in their own right. Their individual styles lend itself to a mixture of soul, hip-hop and indie-electronic music, resulting in the delivery of a uniquely innovative future-soul/RnB sound which eventuates differently for both artists.
For James, 2015 heralded a move to Berlin, and the release of a series of singles and collaborations, including those with Kilter, Dizz1 (Tru Thoughts, Roots Manuva), Frank Nitt (Frank n Dank, J Dilla collaborator) and of course, Jordan Rakei.
Jordan on the other hand, has taken his unique brand of lo-fi soul / experimental hip hop to London, where he will be releasing his debut album. He has also secured a spot on the new Ta-ku EP, and Disclosure album.
