PRESENTED BY TINA EDWARDS

BON-BON is the guise of singer-songwriter Sian King, who despite only having released a couple of demos online, has already shaken up the online new music community, catching the ear of BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson along the way and playing a set at Glastonbury this summer.
From a family of non-musicians with a big love of music, Sian grew up listening to Madonna, Eternal and dance music with her mum and indie bands like Cast with her dad. Her schoolteacher saw potential in her voice when she auditioned for the choir. Despite lying and saying she could read music, Sian got in and after school she went on to study Music and Computer Sound Design at Surrey deciding Classical music wasn't for her and that she wanted to write her own songs - "I loved it but couldn't stand the cliquey nature. I'd turn up to auditions alone with a can of red bull and a heat magazine. The others would be with their parents doing warm ups and chatting to the judges."

After playing some solo shows in Soho she met John Landau, who she began to write and play live with. Sian became obsessed with the production and rhythms of world music and 70s experimental music under his influence and penned her debut EP 'She Don't Want To Know', which is released digitally on 25th November 2013.

Mastered by Mazen Murad at Metropolis, who has worked with the likes of MIA and Florence and the Machine, this stunning debut showcases BON-BON's soulful indie-pop and powerful distinctive vocals. She describes it as "about friends and 'lovers', relationships and situations I've been in over the past 4 years. Taking particular situations and making them hyper dramatic, giving them a backdrop, scenery and characters. Having a real life experience and then making a story out of it. I should really pay John some sort of compensation - he's had to listen to years of my crap. But hopefully somewhere along the way I can write songs people enjoy listening to and play some shows outside of the UK. My nan ran a fruit and veg and flower stall, so maybe I'll do that one day too..."

Catch BON-BON live for her EP launch at The Islington, London with full band on December 19th 2013.
