By now you've probably heard of the young Maui ripper Ian Gentil, but did you know his parents are Brazilian and when he first came to the Islands he spoke not a word of English? His childhood between the playful beaches of Brazil and the heavy reefs of Hawaii have molded him that rare type of surfer with an incredible power and air game. The late, great Andy Irons said that Ian was one to watch back when he was only 13.
