Facebook (Once Again) Changes Fake News Policy Facebook product designer Jeff Smith wrote on Medium that results from a test using disputed flags beginning in Dec. 2016. were not good and buried important information relevant to debunking the hoax. Facebook will instead display Related Articles next to fake posts and include what information in the story is false. Related Articles require less fact checkers and saw fewer hoax articles shared when displayed next to fact-checkers' articles, compared with "disputed" flags. Those articles will also appear next to fake news before someone clicks on the link on Facebook. A user will also get an alert if they try to share a fake news story.
