1st Lt. Aaron Cranford receives the Navy and Marine Corps medal during an award ceremony on Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan on Jan. 8, 2018. Cranford was recognized for saving three divers and a local Okinawan from drowning on April 2017 in Okinawa, Japan. The Navy and Marine Corps medal is the highest non-combat award for acts of heroism.
