Theresa May Pledges No More Plastic Waste By 2042

Theresa May is pledging to eliminate all avoidable plastic waste by 2042. In a speech Thursday on her government's environmental policies, the UK prime minister is set to outline a 25-year plan which includes extending the plastic carrier bag charge to all retailers in England and encouraging supermarkets to sell food without plastic packaging. Labour has accused the Conservatives of a "cynical attempt" at "rebranding the Tories' image" in hopes to connect with young people.
