Hundreds of skaters gathered in Amsterdam in the Netherlands on Sunday in an attempt to break the World Record for a Conga Line Dance on Ice.

According to organisers of the event at the Amsterdam Museumplein skating rink, there were enough participants to break the record held by the University of New York.

However, there was some doubt as to whether the record would stand due to the number of fallers.

EIther way, skaters of all ages enjoyed snaking across the ice in the shadow of the city's famous Rijksmuseum.
