With a fifth storm moving across Maine over the past nine days, Saco braced for more beach erosion. Homes along the town’s 2,000 foot beachfront had already been under threat from encroaching waters before this winter’s storms began.The tiny town at the mouth of the Saco River has seen faster erosion than any other stretch of beach in the state, according to a report from a Portland television station last fall.
