Trackmaster Talking Diesel unboxing review and first run

  • hace 6 años
Hi Youtubers This is the Talking Diesel i bought a couple of weeks ago, he has been waiting patiently for me to make his video debut on my railway :p\r
\r
And yes I forgot there is a wheel sensor on the talking engines they wont run in the air and I was tapping it for nothing but it proved sturdy hehe.\r

Diesel is a small diesel electric shunting engine who in real life would work in a railyard moving things around for the larger engines to take away and general light duties, they can also be found on industrial privately owned railway yards still to this day they are affectionately called gronks and slugs. On Sodor he is a sneaky naughty engine who makes allot of trouble for the steam engines because he feels they should all be replaced, despite this way of thinking the Fat Controller continues to keep and use him on his railway because he has proven to be a hard worker. In later animated versions of the show and day of the diesels in particular we see in the end that Diesel isnt so bad after all.\r

This version has a permanently attached truck with unknown load that holds the battery compartment and the speaker system, the attached truck is heavier than Diesel himself and I would be happy if they could find a way to reduce the weight of the attached truck or do away with it all together. It does blunt the performance somewhat but is still able to pull a 3 car train without much trouble as seen in the video. Diesel is of sturdy construction and has the later friendlier animated face, the drive unit is fairly quiet and it runs smoothly. The talking part isnt so brilliant and i dont particularly like the animated voice and he repeats key phrases from the day of the dieselswhich is all fine and good. the diesel sound he makes can barely be heard and there is a clunking squeaking sound that plays over and over as he moves along which i dont like much.\r
\r
These things seem to be minor things but this is marketed as a Talking engine that makes sound so to me anyway these issues are annoying and i hope that if they do future talking engines the sound system will be much better.\r
\r
Anyway time for a score I give this talking engine a score of 8/10 It would have and should havew been higher because i love these type of diesels but the running sound is a put off and constantly being told to come to the dieselworks is creepy.\r
