BlocBoy JB is shaping up to have a successful 2018. The Memphis rapper earned his first chart accomplishment with the Drake collaboration “Look Alive” and he recently teamed up with A$AP Rocky for “Bad Company.”

BlocBoy first caught the industry’s attention in 2017 with his song “Shoot,” igniting a viral dance challenge among fans. He incorporated the hit dance in the video for his followup “Rover,” which raked in over 6 million YouTube streams.

Produced by his frequent collaborator Tay Keith, “Rover” weaves together an infectious piano beat with lyrics centered around luxurious cars. The track also received a 21 Savage remix titled “Rover 2.0.” BlocBoy tells Genius that even though he’s been exposed to the streets, he’s not afraid to have fun and celebrate life in his music. When Keith sent him the beat, he instantly felt an urge to dance.
