Kim Jong Un Made a Secret Trip to China North Korea's leader made a surprise visit to China earlier this week to meet Xi Jinping. The trip suggests Pyongyang's interest in securing support from its closest ally. China remains North Korea's primary economic and military ally. Kim never met a foreign leader since he took power in 2011. Kim is set to meet with South's Moon Jae-in next month and President Trump in May.
