A screen test is a method of determining the suitability of an actor or actress for performing on film and/or in a particular role. (source Wikipedia) In this case I've tried to "test" the display device itself. The actor is also the display and it's play consists of my animation. The short motion is called screentest and it is my latest one since motion5.

It's the first time I created something at high definition 1920 x 1080, the process has been a bit harder but the end quality will not disappoint me. Unfortunately I cannot offer the 1080p version for download due to bandwidth restrictions from my hoster. Nonetheless a 720p version is available thanks to Vimeo's video service. A Rapidshare mirror will be available.

The usual tools I use were also used on this project. 3ds max for the 3D animations part, the standard scanline render proved quite effective, I have used vray's GI for only one render. After Effects was used to combine all the partial renders add motion blur and the simpler 3d animations that AE's engine could handle example the first part with the "This is just me testing your screen" and others.

No more usual credits with the soundtrack for this one. So I must add here the artist's songs I've used in order of play : Aphex Twin - Avril 14th // Ra-X - Hammersmashed (Chris Clark Remix) // Justice - Newjack // Boys Noize - Oh! Must I say that these are all artists that I recommend to everyone.
