Thursday's market wrap

U.S. stocks were up on Thursday as sentiment improved following a tweet from President Trump that seemed to indicate airstrikes on Syria aren't imminent.
The Dow Jones finished up over 290 points, or one-point-two percent, while the S&P 500 was up zero-point-8 percent at 2,663-point-9.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq added over one-percent to finish at 7,140.
Shares in Korea ended lower on Thursday.
The benchmark KOSPI edged down one-and-a-half points, to close at 2,442-point-7, and the junior bourse KOSDAQ, ended the day down nearly half-a-percent at 881-point-4.
