I had my doubts too but I was wrong, its true. In 1972 (not 1974 like I said) $50,000 (not 70) in freshly minted pennies in an unmarked truck headed south. The truck wrecked in Henry Creek in Heflin Alabama. $45K in pennies were recovered leaving 500,000 pennies still spilled! They were left for the public to find. All were found they thought. I was granted permission from the property owner who let me detect under one condition, I show him the pennies I find, if any, since he has never found any. Well, I found some, and took them to him. I asked if I could keep one. We talked for a long time about the story which has so much more to it in person. Due to my excitement my videos skill got poor and there are a couple of black dead spots, be patient they end and more video comes on. Since then the creek has been known as Penny Creek by all the locals.
