00:23Where am I?
00:29Corben, you're a monster, I should never have put you in the world
00:33Hello mom? I'm lost
00:35I have done better to buy a robot
00:44Hello everyone and welcome in this new video presentation of the rifle USM1 from Marushin.
00:50First a little history of the original weapon: It was produced...
00:58Oh what is this paper? Oh, these are my notes! For once I've an help!
01:04It was produced 6.332 million copies (I counted them one by one) but these numbers are valid for WW2 only.
01:13It was mainly made by Winchester but it was made also by other manufacturers, such as General Motors or IBM ...
01:29It's strange, I hit the keyboard but there is no screen. How does it work? Right click, left click?
01:42And Underwood... Manufacturer of typewriters.
01:45It's strange, there is no paper...
01:47In 1937, the M1 Garand pointed the tip of his nose (Hello!), but in 1940, the U.S. Army found that the Garand was too long (like my c***) for some units (eg tanks) and they reduced the Garand into a miniature Garand.
02:06Hello !
02:08No, not at this point...
02:12This Carbine used .30 Carbine ammo, so 7.62x33, specific size for the weapon.
02:31His reputation was such that it could not drill a wet cloth to 100m, this is pure lie, it can kill, but not necessarily neutralize!
02:47There was a competition between different manufacturers and different design. Winchester won, but they had forward plans to other manufacturers because they didn't have enough staff and money to supply the entire U.S. Army.
03:12This weapon was popular among gunners, tank crews, and all the soldiers that have a function in addition to the infantry, such as radios. Very popular despite its practical reach (150m), the fault of the ammunition.
03:46We had different models USM1:
03:49V1: it looked like this, except for one point (I will return later). Produced during the WW2.
03:59V2: Appeared at the end of WW2 (April 1945), was added a bayonet lug and an adjustable sight. As you can see. Don't need to be closed to see the difference.
04:27There was very little quantity during WW2, so little that you shouldn't use it in reenactment.
04:42Then we had the USM2, very famous, manufactured by Marushin, as all the others (except the last)
04:53The USM2 has the characteristics of USM1 v2, but with a curved 30-round magazine (also called banana magazine) and can shoot bursts. So she has a little fire selector. There were kits to convert USM1 in USM2 in 1945.
05:16Then there was a USM3, a USM2 featuring an night kit, the same type as the Vampyr system for STG 44.
05:26We also had a specific version paratrooper with folding stock. This is USM1A1 (here the Denix). There was also an USM2 A1 (and even USM1v2 A1). It was convenient to be able to put it in a bag the paratroopers could put on the belt.
06:07But note at the head: the USM1 v1 has a flat bolt; the USM1 v2 has a curved bolt.
06:23Now speak about the airsoft version of this gun: There are only Marushin who manufactures, but King Arms will develop a version of the airsoft USM1A1 (I don't have more information for the moment).
06:40At the beginning was wood. Uh, no that's not it.
06:44The original wood was this. It is not bad, but it's quite fragile wooden, which marks easily.
07:04First problem: the upper handguard is a second model with four holes. I plugged two (at first I went on this wood kit before buying an original)
07:18Oil kit is placed here, and it's holds the sling in the stock.
07:36There are still a lot of changes to make a WW2 version.
07:42First, put off the bayonet lug changing the ring here by another first type. It costs 25$. Second change: change up to a first type sight. The ring is compatible, so no problem for adaptation, but the sight is not compatible, it took me to work the metal to fit and glue (which means that it is not very strong).
08:32And modification of the original stock, which took me 3 or 4 hours to fit. There is a big problem with the screw below, which is not the same. But I feel that Marushin had planned it: there is a smaller hole in the mechanism to be able to pass a screw here. But I had to force like crazy!
09:25The upper handguard also requires a small adjustment because of the hop-up system and other screws.
09:39To speak of the airsoft gun itself m ...
09:42- Wesh, it's not yours, it is the Kar- to - Bean ! - Are you sure it's his?
09:50- ? - Let me rephrase: It is CarBean U.S. M1ne.
10:05There are five versions of the carbine airsoft, and no one is WW2 compatible...
10:131st version: 6mm version not blow back. Indecent power: about 600fps. I have seen only one in my life, it is no longer manufactured and I don't know nobody who owns it.
10:392nd version: 8mm, not blow back (it's this one). The magazine is special: a spring too soft, and it has two valves but there is only one real. Perhaps originally planned in order to purge the gas from magazine...?
11:103rd version: USM2 curve with long magazine and burst fire (with a fire selector)
11:214th release: "USM1" which was actually an USM2 without the selector, but always with the banana magazine. I know at least two people who have this airsoft gun, WW2 is not compatible. By the way, you can find one owned one going on this site for airsoft selling/buying!
11:465th release: USM1 type CDX with CO2 magazine (right magazine). I don't know how is this airsoft gun, I've never had in my hands, or would present it now! I don't read other reviews to make my own opinion!
12:10The characteristics of the airsoft gun: the weight is more than 2 kg with the real stock, and a little less than 2kg with the butt Marushin. You can feel the difference, it smell strength ... and original! The magazine is 300g despite its small size. Magazines of the airsoft gun are not foundable in shops. I was lucky to find them in trade.
12:41For power ... I don't care, it's not me in the other side! For power, I can't give it to you, because my chrony can't test 8mm BB's.
12:52Note also a small space in the magazine, there is not anymore when removed. The hop-up is hidden here. About the markings, it has few.
13:18U.S. M1 Carbine .30 (for idiots who don't know what to feed in it during WW2), a Marushin marking with a serial number ( the same for all Marushin rifles ) and a Japanese mandatory certification, as we find the even the thompson Marui.
13:51When adapting the wooden stock, there is a lot of work to do here. There is a huge hole to dig without any visibility and you have to do it with a fine dremel.
14:19Also a lot of work to do on the side, which is fragile as fine. Be careful not to hit a great shot under penalty case.
14:38Although the original magazines resemble airsoft versions, it is not possible to place them on the airsoft gun.
14:58Note, as with all gas magazines, we may have slight leaks. I don't know if you heard, but there is a little noise. Here the valve, easily removable.
15:19The real valve, the false. The lifting clipboard with super soft spring. Everything is metal.
15:38Note that the pouches may contain USM1 magazines for both: the copy and the original. But be careful to put his lips on the outside. Still prefer the copies, it would be a shame to damage the originals.
16:07We will immediately pass the test firing at a target at around 12m, with a single camera and I show you a picture of the target arrival.
17:45The eject button is here, and here the safety (mechanical, which blocks the trigger ), which is a bit difficult to handle.
17:59I hope you have enjoyed this video presentation airsoft gun, please subscribe to my channel, put a green thumb if you liked my work, and share this video, it is very important. I'll see you next month for the next video review!
