CancerBro, What are the symptoms that should be kept in mind for suspicion of esophageal cancer?

That is a very good question. A knowledge about the symptoms is required to consult a doctor at earliest, before the disease becomes very advanced.

Most common symptoms of esophageal cancer includes progressive dysphagia, first to the solids then to liquids, and weight loss. Also, it may cause painful swallowing or retrosternal discomfort or pain. Rarely, there may be cough, chest infection, bleeding, from esoohagus or bone pain.

Any one or combination of these symptoms, when present in a person, should raise the suspicion of the disease.
