A popular Hindi saying: ‘daane daane pe likha hai khane wale ka naam’. This is probably the only way to explain Salman Khan’s decision to reject some of the blockbuster movies, which that had the potential of changing the course of his career. And as his popular dialogue in Kick goes, 'Dil mein aata hun, samajh mein nahi!,' we can't really figure out why Salman said no to such promising scripts, which landed on Shah Rukh Khan’s lap.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge

Many may not this but Salman Khan was offered the iconic role of Raj much before Shah Rukh Khan grabbed it. The Bhai Of Bollywood turned his back on the movie, doubting Aditya Chopra's capablity, and it later went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian Cinema. For reasons that the human mind isn’t entirely equipped to fathom, he literally handed SRK one of his biggest career hits on a plate.

Baazigar

Another movie that shot Shah Rukh Khan to the zenith of stardom in his initial days was Baazigar. And you may not believe but the movie was offered to our Dabangg Dude before King Khan! Feeling pity for Salman, no? Sigh, and to think people believe there is no love lost between the two.

Chak De! India

The Indian women hockey team in the film had 70 minutes to take the World Cup trophy home but so unfortunate it was of Sallu that he had no dates available. Chak De! India was a super hit not only at the Box Office, but also won critical acclaim bagging several awards. Shah Rukh’s portrayal of the patriotic coach is remembered as one of his finest performances till date.

Josh

Josh: So tempting was the character of Max Dias that every other actor in the film wanted to play it. Salman Khan cited date issues and the role once again went to Shah Rukh. For Sallu, it was not just a film missed, but also an opportunity to salvage his then sinking career at that time.

Kal Ho Na Ho No

Salman wasn’t offered Shah Rukh’s part in this movie, but the role of Rohit Patel, later played by Saif Ali Khan, was written for Salman Khan only. However, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s ego didn’t allow him to play a second fiddle to his arch rival, Shah Rukh, and he let this one pass on to. Imagine Shah Rukh Khan and Salman together, it would have an epic film, right na guyz?
