This is Tahira Jumah's eighth recording for us. This track is from our fabulous album "Soul Steppers" which was released in February 2009. An album of "Modern-Room" style Northern Soul. Classic retro soul, owing more homage to Gamble and Huff and the sound of Philadelphia and the mid 1970's rhythms, than the usual Sixties style. Midtempo and Uptempo soulful sizzlers to warm the embers of your heart, and take your feet totally out of control. Music can lift us and make us forget what the world has to throw at us, and this album is designed to do just that. The album features songs by Rosetta Hightower, Noel McKoy, Odette Adams, Tahira Jumah, Jay Harvey, Pearly Gates, The Flirtations, Janine Johnson, Michael Lloyd Pinq, Kitty Corbin and a few major surprises. Tahira sings "Making My Day" as softly and seductively as only she can. Since meeting this wonderful and loyal lady, she became my number one protege. Tahira, the fabulous diva who is my Evelyn Thomas for the new millenium. When I first met her, she had come to the studio with Fay Jones, they were both friends of Angelo Starr, and he brought them along to meet me. I decided to pair them up to make a song which I wrote with Angelo, "It's An Ill Wind". They had never met each other before that day. As I got to know Tahira, I realised she had all the attributes of a real Ian Levine long term star, which is why she then sang my very first song, "Reaching For The Best", for my classics revisited album, "Yesterday And Tomorrow". We then did "I'm In Wonderland" as a duet with Fay Jones, followed by "World Of Your Own", "Mister Right", "What", and the duet with Jay Harvey, "My Oh My". Tahira is FABULOUS. I just want the privilege of introducing her to the world. She and I co-wrote this fabulous smooth uplifting soul classic with my long time producing partner Clive Scott.
