Isaías Sávio ( Montevideo , 1900 - São Paulo , 1977 ) was an Uruguayan concertmaster and pedagogue based in Brazil . He studied piano in childhood for four years and then opted for classical guitar.

He was a student of Conrado Koch , gave concerts throughout South America and, from 1931, moved to São Paulo, where he took the chair of classical guitar at the Conservatory of Drama and Music of São Paulo . In 1963 he was naturalized Brazilian.

Isaías Sávio was also a notable composer, with many pieces inspired by Brazilian folklore . He was professor of great talents of the classic Brazilian guitar: composer and arranger Marco Pereira , composer Jônatas Batista Neto , concertists Antonio Carlos Barbosa Lima and Maria Lívia São Marcos and also the pedagogue Henrique Pinto . He was also professor of the composer and guitarist Luiz Floriano Bonfá and professor of classical music of the singer, composer and guitarist Toquinho .
