Pompeii Archaeological Park has shared fascinating footage and imagery showing the discovery of the intact figure of a horse, which perished when the ancient city was covered in volcanic ash after a 79AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius.Footage shot by local police and the park – an arm of Italy’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities – was shared on May 10, and shows the careful process that went into uncovering the horse’s remains.A statement from the park noted that this was the first such discovery in the many years of excavations.
