Spike Lee Says His KKK Satire Is A Wake-Up Call For America

Spike Lee's satirical movie about the Ku Klux Klan is set in the 1970s. But the director says it's really about the racism still prevalent in the United States. “BlacKkKlansman” is based on the true story of Ron Stallworth. Stallworth was a black police officer who infiltrated the Colorado Springs chapter of the KKK. Lee said, “This film to me is a wake-up call." He went on to say, "We are on the right side of history with this film.”
