New Study Says Pluto May Be A Giant Comet

Astronomers have changed Pluto's status from planet to dwarf planet, but it’s possible now that it may not be any kind of planet at all. In a new study published in the scientific journal 'Icarus', scientists say they have found fascinating similarities between Pluto and the 67P comet studied by the European Space Agency’s Rosetta spacecraft back in 2004. According to Southwest Research Institute’s Christopher Glein in a press release, based on its chemical makeup, Pluto could be a “giant comet,” or the result of a "billion comets coming together."
