More than 200 people were injured including EIGHT seriously in this 100 car pile-up after driving in dangerous fog. Thousands of commuters were brought to a standstill when two separate crashes merged on the busy New Sheppey Crossing, in Kent, during rush hour. Witnesses said they heard screeching breaks then thuds around them almost continuously for TEN MINUTES as more and more vehicles added to the "carnage". Police said it was clear the huge crash had been caused by think fog drifting over south east Britain as the country's weather took a dramatic turn for the worse. And there were claims the massive crash was added to by ignorant drivers SPEEDING on the dual carriageway despite the greatly reduced visibility.
