Two shop workers stopped an axe-wielding robber as he tried to raid their store - by pelting him with packets of SWEETS
The hooded robber chopped and slashed at staff after he targeted the convenience store with an axe in his right hand and a blade in the left.
But the would-be thief was seen off empty-handed after bursting into the Welcome Stores Premier in Farnworth, Gtr Mancs., on Monday morning.
As seen in CCTV from the shop, he enters brandishing the knife but later takes out an axe and runs up to the counter.
