Britain's last surviving Dambuster made sure the 75th anniversary of the Air Cadets was a hit yesterday as he joined forces with TV's Carol Vorderman. Squadron Leader George 'Johnny' Johnson, now 94, was a bomb-aimer on one of the Lancasters which hit the Sorpe Dam during the legendary raids of 1943. Flying-mad Carol, 55, is honorary ambassador of the cadets and the pair came together on Bristol's famous Clifton Suspension Bridge. A national torch relay has been organised to mark the cadets landmark and Carol, an honorary Group Captain, oversaw its handover for the next leg.
