Born 3 September 1950 the famous villain of Bollywood Govind Namdev made his debut as a corrupt cop in David Dhawan's Shola Aur Shabnam starring Govinda, Divya Bharti, Anupam Kher and Bindu in the year 1992. He has acted in numerous critically acclaimed movies, often as a villain in well-regarded performances. He is an alumnus of the National School of Drama in 1977. He acted in several superhit movies like Aankhen (1993), Sarfarosh (1999), Pukar (2000), Garv: Pride and Honour (2004), Sarkar Raj (2008), Wanted (2009), Singham (2011) and many others. Some of his most notable work has been in films like Oh My God, Dum Maro Dum, Bandit Queen, Virasat, Satya, Kachche Dhaage, Mast and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani.
