Jonas Rathsman first appeared Defected in 2010 when his illustrious floor filler 'Proof' dominated dance floors whilst working as a duo with Fredrik Nyberg under the name Stuffa. This time round it's a solo outing on DFTD and the 'Tobago EP' is a first-class archetype of what he has set out to achieve. 'Tobago' characterizes his playful nature by opening with spirited claps and exploding with a cheerful organ synth paired with uplifting joyous vocals. Mercury's Voodoo Underground Remix suits its description perfectly almost as if the original had died and risen from the dead to become a more foreboding and eerie manipulation, whilst still containing the substance to send electricity throughout crowds courtesy of these Swiss producers capable craftsmanship. Finally 'Feeling You' picks up the pace with a funky finger snapper encompassing a punchy bassline and soulful vocals to create an uplifting new disco vibe.

After viewing the results, one cannot fault the Swede on his decision to focus on a solo adventure as he persists on building up a repertoire representative of his energetic personality and talented dexterity. 'Tobago EP' is the latest release on Defected's promising sub-label DFTD which constantly manages to deliver exciting and impressive releases as it continues to blossom this summer.
