Delhi's Buggle For All India Chipko Power Wins In New Delhi, 'No Tree Cutting, New Plans'

The national buildings construction corporation which is tasked with redeveloping half a dozen south Delhi colonies, along with the CPWD have resolved to rework and redesign plans for the redevelopment of the 7 colonies.The agencies will plant 1 million trees elsewhere in the city in lieu of cutting trees for construction purposes within the next tree months. The developer and the CPWD will also invite. Citizens groups to suggest locations for transplantation of trees uprooted for redevelopment. The move comes in wake of the case being heard by the Delhi High Court a few days ago, which refrained the developers from cutting trees until the July 4 hearing.
