Gold Ring, Seljuk (Selçuk) Dynasty period. Diameter: 2,2 cm,12th -13th century. The ring is engraved with an exceptional number of figures. Such figures become common in Islamic art in all the regions from Central Asia to Anatolia ruled by Turk dynasties, such as the Ghaznavids and the Seljuqs. The Seljuqs or Seljuks was a dynasty from the Qynyq (Kınık) branch of Oghuz (Oğuz) Turks. Seljuks ruled a vast area stretching from the Hindu Kush to eastern Anatolia and from Central Asia to the Persian Gulf.
