கர்நாடக அணைகளில் இருந்து அதிகளவு நீர் திறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதால் மேட்டூர் அணையின் நீர்மட்டம் கிடுகிடுவென உயர்ந்து வருகிறது. ஒரே நாளில் அணையின் நீர்மட்டம் 3 அடி உயர்ந்து 68.4 அடியாக உள்ளது
