The longest total lunar eclipse of the century takes place early Saturday morning, Korea time
In some lighter news,... there was a record-breaking lunar eclipse early Saturday, Korea time.
The longest total lunar eclipse of the century began in Australia and Indonesia,... at around 2 a.m., on Saturday.
The total eclipse lasted for just over an hour and half,... and a partial eclipse took place for some four hours.
Lunar eclipses can occur only during a full moon, and this one was extra special as it was also what's known as a 'blood moon', meaning the moon was in perfect alignment with the sun and the Earth, giving the moon a reddish tint.
People across the globe came out of their buildings to enjoy the view and take photos of the rare eclipse.
