It's now been officially acknowledged... that South Korea's national security adviser Chung Eui-yong met this month with one of China's top officials and diplomats, state councilor Yang Jiechi.
The Presidential Office of Cheong Wa Dae said Tuesday that Yang's visit in mid-July had been unannounced to allow for a smooth dialogue between the two.
It said both parties discussed pending bilateral issues, but it did not go into details.
There have been reports that they discussed issues like putting a formal end to the Korean War, in which China was a combatant, and which ended only with an armistice.
