WhatsApp Business, which is a dedicated platform for businesses, is getting new features. First, WhatsApp has rolled out WhatsApp Business API which businesses can integrate on their platforms to effectively communicate with their customers. Also, Facebook has announced it will soon allow businesses to run ads on the social networking platform that click to WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Business API will help businesses to deliver custom notifications. These notifications will be contextual and non-promotional in nature, for instance event tickets, appointment reminders and shipping confirmations. WhatsApp says that it had been testing WhatsApp Business API for months and it is currently working more than 90 businesses such as MakeMyTrip, Uber and Singapore Airlines.
