The fates conspired against the organisers, racers and fans at the 2011 Relentless International North West 200, as an almost unbelievable combination of rain, oil slicks and even a security alert decimated the planned 5-race schedule.
Compiling an official review DVD with only one race run to conclusion seemed an impossible task. However, that race, the opening McKendry Fabrications Supersport, was a 5-lap thriller -- possibly one of the greatest road races ever -- and we could not deny fans the chance to relive the showdown time and time again. So, this year's review features all the 600cc action as Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing's Alastair Seeley and Craig Wilson Honda-mounted Cameron Donald go head-to-head in the rain for one of the most spectacular races the 8.97-mile Portrush Triangle has ever seen.
The best trackside, aerial and on-bike footage ensure you don't miss a moment of the dice as the pair cross the line split by 0.844 of a second after almost 45 miles of racing at speeds in excess of 180mph.
The review also includes the start of the EventServ Superbike race, which was shaping up to be a classic with Ryan Farquhar, Michael Dunlop, Bruce Anstey and Seeley ignoring the horrendous conditions as they battled for glory -- until an oil spill brought the day to a premature end.
In addition, North West legend Phillip McCallen takes to seas for a kayak lesson with Cameron Donald and then visits Ryan Farquhar at his self-built race workshop. You also get to experience the conditions for yourself, courtesy of the Honda-mounted Italian Stefano Bonetti, on a complete on-bike lap of the course. We're on INSTAGRAM: http://bit.ly/2evtvsg
