US-based Johnson & Johnson in big trouble as they the company has now been asked to pay compensation to patients in India for its faulty hip implant surgeries. The US giant is accused of selling faulty hip devices to over 4700 patients in the country so far, four deaths have been reported and over 3600 patients with the hip surgeries are untraceable. The panel formed to look into the matter has recommended a compensation of at least 20 lakhs for the victims & found that the company deliberately HOD facts about the faulty products. It was ordered to recall its products in Australia in 2009 but despite of that the company failed to inform the govt about the recall.
